To all my future brides and grooms,
This isn’t a rant, I promise — just a gentle nudge from your photographer who wants the absolute best for you on your wedding day. 💍✨
There’s a growing issue we’re seeing at nearly every wedding, and it’s something I feel I need to highlight: phones during the ceremony.
I’ve watched so many parents, friends, and guests experience one of the most emotional, beautiful moments of your lives — through a screen. Recording instead of being present. And honestly? It breaks my heart a little.
📱 A few real examples:
- Parents recording the ceremony and completely missing the moment in real time.
- Guests stepping into the aisle for “the shot” — blocking our cameras just as the groom breaks down seeing his bride for the first time.
- A groom’s mum unknowingly standing right in front of us, obscuring the emotion we were about to capture forever.
These aren’t things we can just re-shoot. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments — and if we miss them, they’re gone.
As your photographers, we want to capture your day as it really felt. That means catching your guests smiling, crying, laughing — not just holding up phones. It’s honestly the difference between a good gallery and a stunning one.
Of course, it’s your day, and the decision is always yours. But if you’re open to it, we encourage you to consider an unplugged ceremony — even just for that 20–30 minute window.
✨ Your guests can still have all the beautiful memories.
✨ We’ll deliver sneak peeks the next day that you can share proudly.
✨ And you’ll have a ceremony filled with presence, emotion, and connection — not distractions.
