✨ Why I’m Going to Stop Labelling Myself as a
“Documentary” “Candid” “Editorial” or “Natural”
Photographer ✨
Let’s talk frankly. 👊
When I began wedding photography, I felt pressured to use trendy labels to gain credibility:
I plastered these terms on my website and socials, believing I needed to shout them for recognition.
After
years and over 850 weddings, I realise those words don’t hold much significance. They sound impressive and can make my style feel exclusive, but the truth is, as photographers, WE EMBODY ALL THESE STYLES ON ANY GIVEN WEDDING DAY.
Weddings are dynamic, beautifully chaotic, and emotionally rich and I refuse to confine myself to
label.
So, I’m dropping the labels and over the next few months will be removing these buzzwords from my website. I aim to tell your story beautifully and honestly, in the moment.
If that resonates with you, let’s connect. No buzzwords necessary.
I can almost guarantee you A “candid” photographer will still ask you to pose.
