So, what does it actually cost to be a wedding photographer?
Spoiler: it’s not cheap. But once you see where the investment goes, it all makes a bit more sense.

We don’t just rock up with one camera and a smile. We bring an entire mobile studio — and backups of everything, because weddings don’t allow do-overs!
Camera bodies – Between us, we have five ready to roll every wedding. Each one costs around £2,500.
Lenses – I love my primes (I bring five to every wedding!), and Bridget’s obsessed with her zooms — especially her dreamy Canon 28-70 f2. Lenses range from £1,000 to £2,800 each.
Lighting – Only the best. We’ve got Profoto A10 flashes (£1,000 each — I have four!) and a larger B10. With all the accessories and shaping tools, our lighting kit alone is worth £7,000+.
Accessories – Memory cards, batteries, straps, bags… it adds up to over £2,000.
🎯 Total Gear Investment: £30,000–£35,000+ (and that’s before anything breaks or gets upgraded)
Taking photos is just the start — we spend hours crafting your gallery with care and precision.
Editing software – About £1,000 per year
Online gallery delivery – £700/year
